3 Minutes With Maurice Hall

I am an agent of hope and a strong believer that it is never too late.
I stand here as testimony that it is never too late for so many things…like realising my calling and purpose, using what remains of my life to spread hope for the future no matter what season of life we are in.

I am also a certified leadership, growth and communication trainer, for both business and individuals.
I am passionate about helping leaders out of their comfort or discomfort zones by teaching them they can always reach for more. I want to help them to identify and overcome their fears and stretch towards their potential.
I spent many years stagnating and when I did wake up, there was no more time to mess around. I realised that I had to make every day count if I wanted to leave a legacy.
Nobody wants to go down without a trace. We all want to be remembered for something. It’s in our DNA. Legacy is what we leave in people, not what we leave to people.
It took a series of setbacks and eventually stage four cancer for me to discover who I am, what I stand for, and what I want to be remembered for.
There have been many key moments in my life which could have had greater impact if I had paid more attention, and several people who should have been greater role-models. In short, I missed many opportunities, and it has taken many unnecessarily turbulent years to arrive at certain conclusions. It feels like I have been like an oil tanker ship which takes a long time to change direction.
Well, no matter how long it has taken, how many mistakes and failures there have been, I have been able to learn from them without re-visiting them. They are the experiences which have enriched my life, forced me to introspect, and are the platform on which I dare to stand to exhort you to believe for a richer future.
It is important for me to be authentic. I am learning that my outer world should be a decent reflection of my inner and private world. I do not like pretentiousness or insincerity.

I teach leaders that servanthood is the first step in effective leadership; that they cannot get there on their own; that building a team of leaders will get better results. I like to remind leaders that failure is an essential part of success; that we learn from our mistakes, make changes, and try again; that we do not dwell on the past, but learn from it.

I stress to my audience that internal growth powers external growth, and that consistency pays.
I am a Maxwell Leadership Team certified coach, trainer and speaker. I use the Maxwell Leadership resources and blend them with my own experiences and research, to provide easy-to-use information and guidelines to move leaders from where they are to where they want to be.

Any one of my programs on leadership, communication, and growth will help you to move beyond success to significance and your destiny.
